Every rooftop in San Antonio is a potential energy producer! Let's harness that power to fund our students' junior college education by implementing the following:
CPS Energy solar panels on San Antonio homes = Reduced energy costs for homeowners + Tuition-free junior college + Cleaner air for all of us!
For over one hundred years, the military has served as the most important economic generator for San Antonio’s middle class. We’re appreciative of the sacrifice the members of the military have made for us, therefore I propose that all military, active and retired, living in San Antonio, be permitted to use public transportation free of charge. Many of these members are living on fixed incomes and are unable to afford their own transportation. This will provide a better opportunity for them to make doctor’s appointments, visit family and run errands. It’s imperative that we make every effort to take care of those who served to protect us.
LET'S FILL UP THOSE EMPTY VIA BUS SEATS!
We are all aware that our electoral process is under attack by those who wish to destroy our democracy. Therefore, for city elections, I would like to propose a return to voting by paper ballot. The assurance that each vote has been counted and secured can only be accomplished using the paper ballot and scanner method. This step is completely under the control of the city.
OUR VOTE IS OUR VOICE!
1) Incentives to builders and developers who build new homes in the $150,000 - $225,000 range,
i.e. CPS ENERGY SOLAR PANELS ON THE NEW HOUSES AT VIRTUALLY NO COST TO THE BUILDER.
2) Incentives to neighborhoods for neighborhood renewal, i.e. ANY COUNCIL DISTRICT THAT VOTES 50% OR MORE IN A CITY ELECTION WOULD BE GRANTED ADDITIONAL FUNDS TO BE USED ON PROJECTS EXCLUSIVELY WITHIN THEIR DISTRICT.
Issues I consider of great importance include improving traffic flow and avoiding gridlock. Long term planning is important, but we must begin to take steps immediately in order to decrease the number of automobiles on our roads at any given time.
To assist in the need for reducing the number of automobiles on city roads, I propose that we issue VIA passes to all San Antonio students and San Antonio residents, 65 years of age or older.
VIA BUS PASSES ARE MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE THAN MILES OF ROAD
